Day 356

You're out of your breath as you cross outside the mansion's gates. The lesser Nobodies should be there, they said they were attacking-- because of you? Probably, you know, and you want to protect this place. You want to show that you really meant your word. It was important, but as you glance around you don't see any of the lesser Nobodies around. And than a portal appears and someone steps through it...

"Why do I always get stuck with the icky jobs?"

It's Axel and, in spite of everything, you don't move or summon your weapons. He looks just about as happy to be here as you are to see him there.

"Axel..." You say quietly, calmly.

"[Xion]," the man starts, "...what are you going to do?"

You turn your eyes downcast, but don't hesitate, "I've decided. I've got to go back to where I belong."

"Well, to be honest," he admits just as easily, "I've always felt that was best, right from the very beginning. But you know, it still really bugs me. Something about this stinks."

"It's for the good of everyone," you assist, emotion not afflicting your verse. It's like it's rehearsed, something you accept but don't really believe in. Something you don't want to be true, but it is. And Axel and Roxas both need to understand this. This is hard, so hard.

"But how do you know that?" Axel demands, voice not yet betraying him, "Everybody thinks they're right!"

"This is right."

"They're going to destroy you!"

It's Axels exclamation and as he says it you know he's not just going to let you walk away from this. So you summon your keyblade and he starts. Of course he does. Even now... you don't really want to fight Axel. But if he tries to take you with him this is the only way.

"Please... don't hold back, Axel," you manage, voice thick, "Promise."

He scoffs knowing what this means. You weren't going to walk away now. "What's your problem?!" He finally screams, all emotion finally betraying him. "You both... think you can do... whatever you want. Well, I'm sick of it. Go on, you just keep running," he states, summoning his own weapon, "but I'll always be there to bring you back!"

Your hope for any attempt to get Axel to leave is gone. In spite of it your hands tighten on your keyblade even as you try hard right then and there not to cry. Even if you don't want to... It has to be done. It has to. And so you and Axel fight, beating each other to the point of unconsciousness. Unfortunately, Axel manages just a little longer so he does bring you back...

» FIGHTING AXEL BECAUSE OF THIS. FIGHTING AXEL BUT NOT WANTING TO BECAUSE ALL YOU WISH FOR IS TO SPEND YOUR LIFE WITH HIM AND ROXAS. BUT IT'S NOT ALLOWED.
» Basically just calmly(????) discussing your imminent demise. Kay. They use the words destroyed in both their thoughts/words which is a difference to death in KH. There's no coming back, basically (even more so for her but she doesn'tk now that yet)
